
"We'd been playing these Highland warriors for years now, faking it, and we thought, 'you know, it'd be nice to sort of find out a bit more about it," he told Oprah Magazine. Heughan has described the show as "basically a road trip around Scotland with my co-star Graham McTavish." The statement also confirmed a change in name of the project from Clan Lands to Men in Kilts. McTavish shared a similar post, writing: "Great catching up with my murdering nephew and planning our “Clanlands”podcast. but it’ll be an adventure! Who’s joining and I in ?" Heughan wrote on Instagram, announcing the program.

And while the show wont be about Outlander explicitly, fans will undoubtedly appreciate their deep dive into the setting of the series. (The show's Instagram page even references the pair getting drunk together). The two actors are launching a podcast-turned-TV-series together called Men in Kilts, which will explore Scottish culture and history, and presumably, a little whisky. Outlander may be on a break between seasons, but Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on the series, and Graham McTavish, who once played his uncle Dougal MacKenzie, are working on a new project together.
