He discusses how the death of Kurt Cobain affected him and how the Foo Fighters came about.ĭave has performed at the White House and performed for 2 Presidents, played drums for some big name artists such as Paul McCartney and Tom Petty and even played at the Academy Awards yet his most nerve wracking performance was with his daughter at the school hall.ĭespite being a legend and one of the biggest names in rock music Dave still gets starstruck when he meets other legends such as Elton John, AC/DC, Joan Jett and Little Richard to name just a few. He talks about how he fell in love with music and how at the age of 17 he joined the band Scream as a drummer before making the life changing decision to join Nirvana which went onto become the biggest band in the world. An added bonus is Dave Grohl is the narrator so it seems like Dave is personally talking to you.ĭave wrote this book during lockdown and I though it was brilliant. The library has a copy on order, but I decided to listen to the eAudiobook on Borrowbox. 1 on the non-fiction list and deservedly so. (I have also seen the Foo Fighters live 3 times) The Storyteller : tales of life and music by Dave Grohlĭave Grohl is in my opinion the coolest person on the planet.
